Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil

Cinnamomum zeylanicum or verum

Cinnamon leaf essential oil smells like a cinnamon stick—sweet, spicy, and woodsy! Its bold presence inspires motivation and energy. While people tend to love cinnamon leaf’s scent, germs don’t! Use it to clean surfaces or purify the air to help protect immunity. Cinnamon leaf is rich in eugenol (also found in clove bud oil), which gives it a warm, spicy touch. Our organically grown cinnamon leaf essential oil is steam distilled from the fresh leaves of wild Ceylon cinnamon trees in the forests of Madagascar. Please note: Cinnamomum verum and Cinnamomum zeylanicum refer to the same plant, with the former being the more current name. The term Cinnamomum zeylanicum is an older designation on labels that is being phased out in favor of Cinnamomum verum.

Safety & Warnings

Cinnamon Leaf is high in the component Eugenol, a Phenol. Phenols are considered to be the most irritating components to the skin and mucous membranes and can cause dermatitis and sensitization. If phenols are present in high concentrations in an essential oil, that oil should be used in very low dilutions on the skin (0.5% or less in a carrier) and for short periods of time. They are generally not safe for the skin in a bath. Use caution if diffusing or using in an inhaler. Phenols high oils are not used with babies and children. Not to be used neat (undiluted) on the skin. Essential Oil Safety by Tisserand and Young (second edition), states that oils high in eugenol should be used with caution on those with impaired liver function. Eugenol rich oils should not be used by people who have clotting disorders, as eugenol is an anticoagulant.

Sparks joy AND snuggles

Smells so nice. Not as intense as cinnamon bark. I've been looking forward to trying this in some blends. Tomorrow is going to be orange and cinnamon day in the diffuser! : )

Cinnamon leaf oil

Cinnamon leaf oil is so great to diffuse and to put in recipes. Being that it is easier on the skin than the bark, I rely on this oil. It smells similar to the bark but is a little lighter.

Cinnamon Leaf

Seems weak and I know, so I've decided to just leave this one alone except to mix with other spicy scents, orange and diffuse it. I'll be buying the bark from now on. No offense to the company. Us poor ppl having a hard time sure could use more discounts to try legit sellers we haven't bought from before.
